Students who are members of the EFEQT programme are encouraged to attend at least one event during the year. To this end, we communicate information about events we are aware of and also encourage programme members to inform us of other events they would like to attend so that we can support them in this regard (e.g. financially).

CESQ QUANTUM HACKATHON
Strasbourg, 6-7 March 2025 Link to the event webpage As part of Quantum Week, the European Centre for Quantum Sciences (CESQ) hosted a 30-hour quantum hackathon organised by the institute’s PhD students in collaboration with QPerfect. The event was open to 25 participants from master’s and PhD programmes with knowledge of quantum technologies and programming. Divided into teams, participants used MIMIQ, one of the most powerful quantum computer emulators, to tackle quantum problems with practical industrial applications in the short term. A special prize was awarded to the winning team.
QUANTUM IDEAS FACTORY 2025
Jena, 21-23 February 2025 Link to the event webpage The QIF 2025 turned Jena into a hotspot for young quantum enthusiasts. The three-day event brought together students and early-career researchers for an intensive quantum programming hackathon, where they tackled real-world challenges in quantum science and technology.

Strasbourg, 7-13 July 2024 Link to Youtube videos The first European summer school on quantum science and technology was held in Strasbourg, coordinator of the EFEQT programme.
EQTSS brings together committed students with experts from research, industry and start-ups. For one week, everything revolves around research into quantum technologies, and participants immerse themselves in the fields of quantum computing, communication and sensor technology.

EQTSS is organised as part of a trilateral agreement with partner institutions in France and the Netherlands and is supported by a strong cross-border network.
SUMMER SCHOOL : QUANTUM, FROM THE LAB TO NEW TECHNOLOGIES
Troyes, 29-31 May 2024.
EFEQT network is organising a summer school that will take place at the University of Technology of Troyes in France from the 29th to the 31st May 2024.
This 3-day school will have lectures, industry sessions from “quantum” companies, lab tours and social events. The different platforms used for quantum technologies will be discussed and companies such as Pasqal, Quobly or SingleQuantum will be present.
The event is co-organised by the University of Technology of Troyes and the University of Strasbourg and sponsored by the european project DigiQ, as well as the Graduate Schools NANO-PHOT and QMAT.

SPRING SCHOOL AND QUANTUM CARLA CAREERS SYMPOSIUM

Spring School on Open-Source Tools for Quantum Science & Technology hosted by ICFO from 18-21 March 2024
The school will be followed by the annual Quantum CARLA Careers Symposium, which will be held at La Pedrera in Barcelona on Friday 22 March.The school is aimed at Masters students who are interested in familiarizing themselves with the use of these tools.
There are limited places available, so we recommend early registration. They offer a few Travel Fellowships for Masters Students interested in attending the school. Students enrolled in DigiQ may request travel support from their home university, if this is available.

The European Summer School in Quantum Science and Technology is jointly organized by the KIT Graduate School of Quantum Matter (KSQM) for doctoral researchers in quantum science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT); QUSTEC, an international doctoral training program of Universities in Switzerland, France and Germany; as well as EFEQT, an European training program for Master students supported by the Quantum Flagship initiative. The aim of the school is to offer an introduction to and an overview of cutting-edge research in quantum science with a focus on creating, controlling and manipulating quantum systems for quantum technologies.
